The Rain held off and everything went accordingly for the 7pm wedding. They said their vows as thunder rolled in the distance but other than a late night. All is well and Clay and Kalyn is married! We wish them the best.

Wedding Rehearsal

Its springtime and its wedding season! Matts cousin Kalyn is marrying Clay. They are a precious couple and we had a good time at rehearsal yesterday. Rayne is the flowergirl and Kadi stood in as the "bride". Nick amuzed himself playing golf with Keaton at the practice putting green. Mom and Daddy Byrd were cute, watching another grandkid marrying. Nana has done a great job helping with flowers and everything looked beautiful. I pray the rain stays away and everything goes to however Kalyn dreamed her wedding would be. I will post more pics tomorrow!!!!

When our loved ones dont suffer anymore....

This weekend I again was reminded of the strength the word Cancer, really has. It doesnt hestiate to take those from us, who we love the most. Beth and I have been friends since somewhere about the beginning of first grade. We did everything together thru our growning up years and her mom was my 3rd grade teacher. James and Shirley Taylor, Beth's parents. People who have been in my life, almost as long as my own family:) Last Thursday Beth lost her dad, James, to cancer. I watched cancer again, take a strong willed man who loved his family. Who I cant believe that his journey was over, God took him to the gates of heaven, Leaving behind his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

As we stood at the funeral home during visitation I was taken back to apart of my early childhood years. My first grade teacher, who was just a jewel, is still just as precious. Mrs. Shattles. And many others who came thru and told my family of swatting my butt because I talked alot...lol Yes, one of them shared a story with my kids:) It was an enjoyable time, even thru the difficult circumstance, to just stand and realize "Hey, I am truly an adult"....I am Now my Parents...lol We laughed and giggled, whispered and gossip..yes I will admit it, We shared information. But just being there, among the people who were such a part of my early years was like stepping back in time, but in my current adult body.

At the service Sunday which was wonderful again I had the opportunity to visit with people from my past. Mr. Camp, my elementary Principle, who just lost his son Matt from cancer just last year,was there. He will ever be remembered in my mind for what he told his students EVERYDAY after the pledges and announcements were done. He said " Remember I love you and God loves you" and you know here I am 31 years later, and I know he still loves me. It doesnt matter where we meet, I feel loved by him. He is truly a special man.

Beth will miss her dad there is no doubt there. He is alot like my daddy, very loving. Beth always knew her dad loved her. I knew James loved me too. I found it interesting to know, we had known each other for over 30 years and spend so much time together that We didnt realize our daddys shared the same birthday!!! I figure, we were so worried about our own birthdays, the fact our daddys shared the same birthday didnt matter so much...lol

I just ask you to keep Beth and her family in your prayers til life gets moving again. Those of you who cancer has touched, you know that you get into a bubble of sorts when your fighting cancer and that once that fight is over and our loved ones are Healed, we have to learn life again.

Sometimes it takes longer than we ever dreamed but with everything, Time heals our heart.

Thru James, I had some wonderful times with Beth this weekend. Thru the face of heartache, we shared great memories and was reunited with some special people who were active parts of our friendship. Beth, I love you girl. Hang in there and take one day at a time. Love your mom often and know I am a phone call away.

For those friends who I shared this with. Love the people in your life, just a little more today. Call those you dont talk to often and remind them you love them. If you know someone battling cancer, ask what you can do for there loved ones. Its hard for them to ask for help. Most wont ask, just do for them. It will be forever appreciated.

God is a good God and He does take care of us, in his own ways.

For that I am thankful.

A full week!

Well here I sit after a full week of travel and friends, and throw in some family time! Gosh, I am tired but I had alot of fun.
Megan and I left here last Wed. after we got off work and made it into Meridan Ms. for the night. Then we traveled on and made it to Fayetteville in time to watch Brandon, the 17th birthday guy, play baseball and grab some dinner with the Nolen crew.
The girls got up bright and early, yes early..6 a.m...lol, and headed onto Washington DC for their weekend adventure...check out their facebooks to see what they did. They had alot of fun but returned home tired with sore feet:) They looked so cute when they got home.
I got to see Alexis "play" basketball and it was alot fun to watch.
Then Sat. I had the opportunity to sit and watch Brandon and his friends play paintball.....they recieved many stings, and cherry bruises. I was amazed to sit and watch grown men, who meant business, and were ready for some cut throat paintball. lol I laughed so many times at the extent that these men went to and full gear...lol oh dressed to really to do some paintball shooting. These men rolled in with suitcases full of stuff and one man, brought in three huge plastic containers full of weapons, guns, mask, equipment and what got me is when he went and changed from wearing camo pants....into camo pants. That got me laughing! Anyhow Brandons birthday went great and everyone had a great time, even if they were sore and bruised the next day in church:)
Meg and I drove home Monday and had a great roadtrip with two stops to shop:)
Tuesday night we had to drive over to Hallsville for Izsabella's kindegarten graduation. Elmo and Big Bird was there and they performed "When We Grow Up" It was precious. Izzy is growning fast and so ready for first grade. We are proud of her!!!!
Well that is about my week. Its Wednesday again and I am so glad to have a little slowdown time. I have been at the twins school for the past two days, hanging with my friends there! These kids are growing up fast. Its so much fun and such a blessing.
This week take some time to hang with your kids. What a blessing they are and trust me, time flies and they will grow so quickly.
Exciting news!!!!!! Tori did get that internship on Ft. Bragg!!!!! She will start as soon as her back ground check is completed. I am so proud of her:) Go Tori!!!!!

Prom 2010 Kadi and Cameron

As you see in the pictures, Kadi looked beautiful.

After a day of hair, pictures, a limo ride to Tyler, and Dinner......I am sitting here hoping Prom 2010 is everything the kids want it to be. We had a busy day but it was alot of fun, sooooo thankful this only happens once a year:)
